This is one of the best books on the market for a course on linear regression analysis. It contains everything from the basic least squares equations to problems of multicollinearity, and a section on non-linear regression is also thrown in for good measure. Not a cheap book (Wiley would do well to consider inexpensive paperback editions for non-plutocrats)but highly recommended nevertheless. The book contains many applications to real-life problems and questions are included at the ends of the chapters, making this a valuable textbook for a very wide range of students.

Anyone looking for a good chapter-by-chapter summary and commentary on the Lotus Sutra should look no further than this book. Rev. Suguro (he is a priest of the Nichiren Shu) also covers the two sutras that open and close the Lotus Sutra, the Sutra of Innumerable Meanings and the Sutra of Meditation on Bodhisattva Samantabhadra. He also highlights the seven famous parables of the Lotus Sutra, including the Parable of the Burning House (which is well known from Hui-Neng's discussion of it in the Platform Scripture) and the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Rev. Suguro also highlights those passages which are of particular importance to Nichiren Buddhism and also discusses the T'ien-t'ai system of analyzing the sutra according to the diffent functions of its various sections. There is also a brief discussion of Nichiren's reading of the Lotus Sutra in an appendix. I hasten to add, however, that this book was not written from a sectarian point of view. Rather, it was written to open up the Lotus Sutra for all Buddhists and non-Buddhists who wish to get a better understanding of what this most famous of Mahayana sutras is about. A valuable introductory work like this is especially important for the Lotus Sutra, since even famed Zen Masters like Hakuin had difficulty appreciating the depths of the Lotus Sutra simply by reading it on their own without a guide and/or a few satoris under their belt. Many Zen practitioners should also know that Dogen also frequently quoted from the Lotus Sutra in his monumental work the Shobogenzo. So I would recommend this book to anyone who might be wondering why Hui-Neng, Hakuin, and Dogen found the Lotus Sutra so fascinating. For Nichiren Buddhists, it should go without saying that a guide to the Lotus Sutra would be invaluable. The only drawback to this book is that it sometimes takes for granted that the reader has already had a basic eduction in foundational Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism. So this book is not a good introduction to Buddhist itself - but it does give a cursory explanation of basic Buddhist and basic Mahayana concepts as they appear within the Lotus Sutra. One last note, this book uses passages from the English translation of the Lotus Sutra by Rev. Senchu Murano. This translation is available from the Nichiren Shu and is highly regarded as a very authoritative and readily understandable translation.

Wow! That was a great book I just finished reading, it's called Nightmare at camp Pine Tree Lake and I guarantee you will think it's a great book to. So read it unless you're too scared to read this frightful choose your own nightmare story.

It's a Mysterious Horror and you (Your self) are the main character. You go to your favorite summer camp this summer. It's called Pine Tree Lake. Last year you had a ton of fun with Joel one of counselors who everyone enjoyed being around. But this year he hasn't been seen yet and you are worried. Some say he's lost in the woods and can't find a way back. Some say he was eaten by a hungry animal. Some say he just quit being a counselor but you know that's lie because Joel loved being a counselor, the way he told stories at the night camp fires and the way he would always want to go on hikes, paddle around the lake in a canoe. And you could always tell that was happy at camp. You get suspicious when you see Joel's bag on the cabin floor so you wonder, and you are motivated to find your friend Joel where ever he is.

Your best friend Lisa who is also at the camp is going to help you find Joel. One of the counselors said Joel took off in a canoe and never came back, but he forbids you to go. Late one night you and Lisa sneak off in a canoe and along the way you see an island with a broken down canoe lying on the shore. But would it be safe to investigate what would you do, after all this is a "choose your own nightmare" story. Be careful it's very dangerous out there.

Will they find Joel or will they die trying? It's really your decision how this story ends. Don't miss out on this fun filled nightmare book. "Nightmare at camp Pine Tree Lake."

"Jack's Law" is a well written documentation of corruption and abuse within the judicial system. Written with the precision of an investigative reporter, Steve Joynt provides the reader with a factual basis for the inevitible conclusion to a corrupt public official.

Steve's research into his subject begins with details of Montgomery's early childhood and continue through a lifetime devoted to deception and self grandeur that led to his eventual downfall and death.

Well worth reading, particularly for anyone interested in the backrooms of "justice".

I found this book to be incredibly well written, bursting at the seams with imagry and science. Sy Montgomery brings to the table a mixture of "common man's" love for something simply beautiful as well as a scientists need to know the reasons why. She delicately weaves in native stories told by people indigenous to the areas she visited with a scientifically justified look at an elusive species. All this is done while painting a beautiful portrait about life in the amazon basin. This was an amazing book that made me want to read everything she's written.

I grew up in the King Ranch. So I can relate to the photo layout. The book shows real people doing what makes the King ranch so great. It also brings back many wonderful memories of my grandparents, parents, countless relatives, and friends. What makes this book so valuable to me, is the fact that most of my kin are no longer with us. Antoinette Montgomery Frissell did a wonderful job of telling it like it was

This book is a hidden gem, hard to find, and a marvelous addition to your quilt reference library. Setting it apart from other books resulting from quilt documentations are the many quotes taken from interviews with local quilters, full of wisdom and humor. I guarantee you will be delighted with this book!

This book was the result of quilt documentation days in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in the Perkiomen Valley (also known as Goschenhoppen) combined with the Roans' extensive personal interviews with local quilters. This area is rich with quilting traditions and several patterns which are distinct if not unique to this area like the "Rainbow" variation of the Trip Around the World, "Rising Sun," and "Perkiomen Valley". Many of the quilts shown in the book are Pennsylvania German, although the area also had English, Welsh, and other settlers in addition to the "Pennsylvania Dutch."

Everyone I know who has read this book treasures it as one of the most valuable historical quilting books in their library!
